Ludacris development
Rapper's role as an elf in Fred Claus just the latest in a growing acting career!
LOS ANGELES -- A comet called "Holmes" exploded in our solar system this week.
Scientists are baffled, but one theory is that it has to do with the rapper Ludacris playing an elf in the holiday kids' movie Fred Claus.
That would be the same guy -- who acts under the name Chris (Ludacris) Bridges -- that Fox's Bill O'Reilly once campaigned against for "anti-social lyrics" (he succeeded in getting Pepsi to drop the rapper as a spokesperson) and whom Oprah Winfrey criticized for "marginalizing women" in his rhymes.
But 'tis the season to not be hatin', and like the once-scandalous Ice Cube and Ice-T before him, Bridges is in the process of trading in his gangsta badge for an acting career and a softer image (he's even got a soundtrack duet with Doris Day). He's also a bit worried over how he's going to explain his new role to a 6-year-old daughter who's already giving the fisheye to this whole Santa business. (more here)
