Inga- Out of Solitary- But Still PINCHED!

Inga Marchand beter known as Foxy Brown is finally out of solitary confinement after serving 40 of her 70+ days by having... now get this... GOOD BEHAVIOR!

Foxy still has a little time left on her year sentence at Rose M. Singer womens prison on Rikers Island, but said she was in good spirits and was trying to answer every single fan letter. She also said she has written a couple of "fire" cuts and she can't wait to get back in the studio. Foxy was 1 of the few ladies of hip hop that could walk the line being a very sexy woman as well as a pretty good lyricist. Songs like Ain't No feat Jay Z and her reggae charged anthem China White have really set her a bit apart from some of the other average female rappers.

Ghostwriting... Is it OK with YOU?

This is an article from Gelf Magazine... Props to Nah right for the article... Its amazing how many ghostwriters there are... check this out...

Hip-Hop's Ghostwriters

Is it fair for big-shot rappers to pay up-and-comers for their lyrics, but then give them no songwriting credit?
Adam Conner-Simons
Music consumers readily accept that the singer of a catchy pop song may not have written it. But they may not know that this practice extends to other seemingly more authentic musical genres like hip-hop, which Chuck D of Public Enemy famously referred to as CNN for black people. "We hold rappers to a different standard than pop singers," says Chuck Creekmur, co-founder of AllHipHop.com. "With hip-hop we want to have that personal connection. We want them to tell us how they feel." More here

Foxy Brown Pregnant, and getting Married

Rapper Foxy Brown is preparing for a new phase in her life as the rapper has reportedly confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child.

According to the New York Post, Foxy (born Inga Marchand) spilled the beans about her being an expecting mother, while also saying that she will be getting married soon.

"I'm getting married in September. I'm pregnant," she said.

The former Def Jam recording artist, who recently landed a multi-million dollar deal with Koch to distribute her own Black Rose Entertainment imprint, did not however divulge the identity of her soon-to-be husband or how far along she is in her pregnancy.

In related news, Brown continues to run into legal problems as she recently had a violation report filed against her by the New York City Department of Probation after an alleged physical altercation with her Brooklyn neighbor. Brown was charged with hitting Arleen Raymond with her BlackBerry cell phone.

As SOHH previously reported, Brown was hit with felony assault after turning herself in to authorities on August 14. Brown and Raymond allegedly got into an argument last month, which left Raymond with loose teeth and swelling around her lip and right eye.

According to New York's Daily News, Raymond told authorities that the bad blood between her and Brown began after she got into a dispute with the Brooklyn rapper for blasting her car stereo in their Prospect Heights neighborhood.

The resentment would continue when Brown appeared at a drugstore where Raymond works as a cashier and insulted her while waving money in her face.

Despite her legal woes, the Brooklyn MC is continuing to record and is set to drop a street album, Brooklyn's Don Diva, in December. The disc will be released through her own Black Rose Entertainment and will be her first LP since 2001's Broken Silence.

Foxy Brown...at it again

MAHWAH, New Jersey (AP) -- Foxy Brown is accused of lying to police during a traffic stop, the latest addition to the rapper's legal woes, according to a published report.

Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was driving a sport utility vehicle on Wednesday when she was stopped for talking on a handheld cell phone and failing to stop at a stop sign, police told The Record of Bergen County.

After a check showed the SUV's registration had been suspended, the 27-year-old rapper gave officers a variation of her real name and a date of birth that was a year off, authorities said.

When a search for the name she gave turned up no records, the officers asked her again for the information, and she gave her correct name and date of birth, authorities said.

The officers then learned that Brown's license was suspended, and she was taken to police headquarters, where she was issued seven traffic tickets and released on her own recognizance.
